Introduction
OpenMP is an Application Program Interface (API), which supports shared-memory parallel programming in Fortran, C and C++ on all architectures. It is a portable, scalable programming model that gives programmers a simple and flexible interface for developing shared-memory parallel applications.
This series of workshops is designed as a forum for discussion of the latest developments in OpenMP, in its compilers, tools and applications. This year's event is hosted by the KTH, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. It is part of the cOMPunity initiative whose main objective is the dissemination and exchange of information about OpenMP.
Participants should have some basic knowledge of OpenMP programming in C/C++ or Fortran.

   OMPlab
We continue the succesful experience from last year's EWOMP with a talk session and a lab session.
After a two days "conventional" workshop part with invited and contributed talks (OMPtalks), we want to take the opportunity of having many OpenMP experts in the fields of compilers, tools and applications on board, to altogether "get our hands dirty" and do real work in a three days hands-on lab session (OMPlab).
In parallel to the OMPlab hands-on session, there is plenty of time for additional working groups. It is up to the participants to ignite controversies and lively discussions about OpenMP's present and future. Any ideas are welcome.
Important Dates
August 30 Deadline for OMPtalks (see below)
August 30(*) Deadline for submission of OMPlab project proposals (max 5 pages).
September 21 Notifications for OMPtalks authors and OMPlab proposals(*)
October 1 Final camera-ready papers are due.
October 1 End of early registration period.
October 11 Deadline for installing tools and applications for OMPlab.
October 11 End of late registration period. Onsite registration will be possible. Payment with credit card only.
    October 18-19 EWOMP'04 part I: OMPtalks
October 20-21 EWOMP'04 part II: OMPlab
(*) The composition of the OMPlab will be an iterative process, which is supposed to converge into interesting cooperations. Please check the OMPlab web page for accepted contributions.
