Contact information for internships / master thesis projects

Before proceeding: NOTE:

There is no garantie that you will get an internship or master thesis project from companies listed below. This list is only thought of as an initial help for finding contacts.

Some master thesis projects will also be available within the department. However, students are encouraged to organise their thesis work as internships within industry, as they can receive a typical salary of summer and thesis workers in these companies. This salary is contract based and can therefore be individual for each student, depending on the companies interest and situation.

If you find openings for intership, but not for master thesis, contact the company anyway and tell them that you are actually looking for a project that can lead to a master thesis. Maybe not every company can afford you to write your thesis at their place. If you get an interesting project that could lead to your thesis, contact your supervisor at KTH / SOC-Program and try to get the project approved. You can then still write the actual thesis after completing the project tasks.

These internships are highly demanded. It is therefore recommended to start early locking for a place during the academic year. Don't wait until you finished all your courses !

A few recommendations for contacting companies (something you should actually already know):

Consciousness:              Try to be aware of what you want before you contact them. This will make it
                                            easier for you and them to find a common interest. This could, for instance, be
                                            one of your specializing subjects, e.g. digital circuit design (or other).

Completeness:                Sending a CV by email can be a starting point of a contact, but it should not be
                                            the only information you provide about yourself. Give some personal information
                                            about you, your interests, strong points, previous work/study experience etc.

So, don't just drop a CV at some email contact address. It could otherwise easily
be considered as junk mail and land in the same "folder" as junk mail uses to land in.
